Auto Insurance Rates
While there is a lot of talk about the rising costs of home and health insurance policies across the country, not as many people are aware of the fact that auto rates are also increasing on a regular basis. This problem may not be as serious as those surrounding the other insurance policies, but all in all it is something that affects millions of people.
The funny thing about auto insurance policies is that in some states they are reasonably priced, but in others they are out of control. For instance, auto insurance in the state of Florida is among the highest in the country. Many industry professionals feel that companies are raising their prices to cover the costs of the thousands of cars that are damaged in hurricanes each year.
These rate increases have not received much media attention, but again, they are affecting families in many states. In fact, many families have been faced with the choice of carrying a high level of auto insurance coverage or paying for things such as prescription medicine or food. So as you can see, this is a strain that can be quite taxing to say the least.
It is critical that lawmakers take a look at the rising costs of auto insurance. Although this problem may not be as big as the health insurance crisis, it is something to think about. Driving without auto insurance is against the law, and more and more people are taking this risk every day. Hopefully, lawmakers will step in and do their best to come up with a reasonable solution to this problem.
