How often do you use your Health Insurance?

Many people think that they do not need health insurance because they never go to the doctor. While this may sound reasonable enough, this theory is actually full of holes. Even if you do not use your health insurance on a regular basis, it does not mean that you should get rid of it. Remember, you never know when something is going to happen. An accident or sudden illness will be covered if you have health insurance. But if you do not, you will be stuck with thousands of dollars worth of doctor and hospital bills.

It is great that you do not have to use your health insurance on a regular basis. This means that you are healthy, and hopefully that things will stay this way for a long time. But you really do not want to tempt fate by going without coverage. It only takes one mistake or accident to find yourself at the doctor for treatment.

If you are thinking about getting rid of your health insurance policy because you never use it, reconsider. Instead, maybe you will want to get a cheaper policy that has a high deductible, but also an out of pocket limit.

You should be glad that you never have to use your health insurance. But of course, on any day at any time, this could change. And if this happens you need to be ready for it.
