Leader in Life Insurance Sales

According to a recent survey conducted by LIMRA, John Hancock led the industry in life insurance sales last year. This is no surprise being that they are always at the top of the industry year in and year out.

In 2006, John Hancock’s total annualized premiums reached an astounding $735 million. While industry sales only grew by approximately 7 percent over the prior year, John Hancock managed to increase sales by nearly 20 percent. This is a big move forward for the company. In 2004 they finished number five in the industry for total sales, and in 2005 number three.

One of the biggest reasons for the success at John Hancock is their increase in universal life insurance policy sales. Although the industry averaged an increase of 9 percent last year, John Hancock managed to grow by 17.6 percent.

An increase of 32.7 percent with variable life insurance policies also gave the company a huge boost. This large increase is compared to an industry average of approximately 8 percent. In fact, this increase moved John Hancock into the number two spot in the industry when it comes to the sales of variable life insurance.

John Hancock does a great job in offering a wide range of services, and for this reason they are looking to have another big year in 2007.
