Why Consumers Stop Shopping for Health Insurance
Being in the market for health insurance should mean that you do not stop your search until you find a policy. Unfortunately, this is not the way that things work out for many consumers. Every year there are quite a few shoppers who stop looking for health insurance for one reason or the next.
The best reason to stop shopping for health insurance is if you find it elsewhere, such as through an employer or spouse. This not only means that you can stop searching, but it also means that you will probably be able to save money. Of course, this is not a "bail out' that every consumer can count on.
Another common reason to stop shopping is that some consumers think they cannot afford coverage. You never want to fall into this trap, because if you do you will be putting your health and finances in a bad position. There may be some health insurance policies that you cannot afford, but there are more than likely a few that will suit your budget.
Finally, some consumers give up because they do not want to put the time into the shopping process. They feel that it is entirely too time consuming, and that they are never going to find a solution. This is once again a huge mistake; especially since every consumer can use the internet to ease buying pains.
If you are shopping for health insurance keep this in mind: you should not give up until you have a policy in place.
